circles

the circular shapes are evolving nicely...

I do, however, still keep being drawn back to the PVC.  This is a collage
êêêêêêêêêêêêêêêêêêêêêêêêêêêêêêêêêêêêêêêêêêêêê
made from photocopies of PVC fabric.  I obviously just love the stuff!

Philip, Keith and Florescent Colours

The piece is finally up, still can't quite work out the reasons for making and where it's heading, but I am quite happy with it being another link in the chain.  I do feel that some more work is needed.  I definitely want to simplify/abstract further, with the focus being on shape and form.  I am becoming increasingly interested in semiotics and sign systems.  I like that idea of creating a language in shape format, which could help strengthen the visual continuation.  I have been looking in particular at the works of Keith Haring and Philip Guston, who have used recurring forms, albeit figurative in nature, which help generate a strength and permanence to the art.

I have also managed to pick up 'My first Octagons', which coincidently and unintentionally are the same colours as the cloths above; still keeping the idea of play in mind. It's drawing time I think....

Piece on Wheels

Remember this? Well I have decided to give it a frame and pop it on wheels...

... I like the idea of it being ready to go.  No hanging, no measuring, no wall space needed just wheel it in put on the brakes and voila!

Mail Art

Postcards made for Mail Art project - Decentralized Networker Congress 2012.  An event that will expand their global network of artists even further.  http://www.cazart.org.uk/content/autonomous-zone

The work has remained with the alphabet theme.   They are collage pieces, with the layering of coloured paper and the addition of pencil and pen.  The process of making was purely organic.  Having fun with form, colour and line.
I found a few bright envelopes to post them in; I didn't want them to be completely battered by the postal service....
...and off they go to the USA, Italy and Cornwall
Bon Voyage...

hibernate

I have finally got the swatches stitched together.  A metallic border made up of different gold’s and silvers was added around the piece, to hint on a gold frame.  However, once the piece was up I realised a lot more needs to be done to it.  So I have decided to put it away for a bit and revisit it with fresh eyes.  Stay tuned....

Coming Together

swatches are being sewn together in small clusters and then attached together, however, production has grinded slightly to a hault due to a snapped machine needle.
I have gotten upto 'O' so far....
